Two distinct media realms must be added. Naming conventions may be as desired by the
customer. For ease of recognition and reference, ‘LANRealm’ was used for the LAN-side media
realm. Likewise, ‘WANRealm’ was used for the WAN-side media realm.
Specifically, the LAN media realm and WAN media realm configurations are shown below. Each
media realm must have an Index value assigned. Starting with a value of ‘1’ is a reasonable
approach.
Again, the realm name can be anything desired that is memorable for later reference. Port
Range Start was set to ‘6000’ for the LANRealm and ‘7000’ for the WANRealm. The Number of
Media Session Legs must be set to the maximum value of RTP traffic (per call basis) allowed in
to and out of the MSBG. In this screen capture, 30 legs for each media realm proved sufficient.
The Port End Range is another, flexible, customer selectable value.
